Racist attack against Kurdish seasonal agriculture workers: Family had to leave their village 2021-08-02 10:15:56   ANTALYA - Subjected to a racist attack of at least 300 people, seasonal agricultural worker Kurğa family from Mardin had to leave their village.   Seasonal agricultural workers living in Bayralar Village of Elmalı district of Antalya had to leave the village after being attacked and threatened by a racist group of 300 people for two days. Servet Kurğa, whom we reached regarding the incident, stated that they had been attacked by a racist group for two days and said, "Last night, they attacked us at 00.00. Our boss's nose and ribs were broken. They told us to leave the village because we are Kurdish. They attacked us again today. Kurğa said: "We are being taken out of the village under the supervision of the gendarmerie. We did not get any of our belongings. We are now going to Elmalı with our relatives."   'I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR LIFE SAFETY'   Mustafa Kurğa, a member of the Kurğa family residing in Izmir, said that he was able to reach his family after 4 hours, and that the video circulated in social media belongs to today. Noting that a racist group attacked his family for 2 days, Kurğa said, "Currently, my family has been removed from the village under the supervision of the gendarmerie. They will go stay with our relatives. 16 people, including children, are being evacuated out of town. I was worried about the safety of my family's life. I am still worried."   THREAT TO THE FAMILY TO LEAVE TOWN   Kurğa said, "Last night, a group of racists raided the house and beat the people in the house. The gendarmerie who came to the scene told my family that there is nothing they can do and adviced them to leave town for their own safety. The racist group told my family that they don't want them in their village because they are Kurdish and warned that they had time until noon to leave the town or they will burn their house down with the family inside. They attacked my family again today. For the second time. These people attacking my family defines themselves as the 'Greywolves'. The headman of the village provocates further. My family left the town for good as of this hour."   BÜLBÜL: WE WILL HOLD NECESSARY TALKS   On the other hand, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Antalya Deputy Kemal Bülbül, who made a statement on the subject on his twitter account, said, "As a result of our long talks with the Elmalı district President and the authorities for the Kurğa Family, who were attacked in a neighborhood in Elmalı, our family has no security problems tonight.
