Police officer ran over 7-year-old Miraç, released

	ŞIRNAK - The police officer who ran over 7-year-old Miraç and killed him was released after giving his statement.

	 

	The statement of the driver of an armoured police vehicle that killed 7-year-old Miraç Miroğlu while he was riding a bike on September 3, was finally taken days after the incident.

	 

	It was learned that the investigation initiated by the İdil Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident was initiated on the grounds of a "fatal traffic accident".

	 

	The statement of the police officer was taken today, three days after the incident even though a child was killed. The police officer brought to the court house was released after giving his statement.

	 

	HE CLAIMED HE WASN'T SPEEDING

	 

	In his statment, the police officer claimed he wasn't speeding and said: "I didn't do it on purpose. I did not want it to end like this."

	 

	A copy of the investigation file was decided to be sent to the Traffic Specialization Department of the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the defective fraction.

	 

	STATEMENT OF THE FAMILY HASN'T BEEN TAKEN YET

	 

	The prosecutor has not yet applied for the testimony of the Miraç family, who lost their children. The family is expected to give their statement in the upcoming days.
