15 injured in KDP attack at Sêmalka border gates 2021-12-16 10:49:01 NEWS CENTER - Several activists were injured in an attack by KDP security forces at the border gate between Rojava and Southern Kurdistan. Activists of the youth movement in Rojava were attacked by KDP security forces at the Sêmalka border gate. According to initial reports, 15 people were injured as a result of the attack. The KDP forces fired into the air several times.   A sit in was being staged at the border gate between the autonomous region of north-eastern Syria and southern Kurdistan for two and a half months, demanding the return of the bodies of fallen guerrilla fighters. At the end of August, a guerrilla group in Xelîfan in the Medya Defence Area was ambushed by a special KDP force. Five guerrillas were killed, one survived. The sit in at Sêmalka has already been supported by thousands of people so far. Mothers of the people killed by the KDP special forces have tried several times in vain to cross the bridge over the Tigris to demand the bodies of their children to be released to them.   The Revolutionary Youth Movement of Syria and the Young Women's Association started a long march in Qamişlo three days ago with the slogan "Come to the liberation struggle". The Sêmalka border crossing was the last stop of the march.
