Çetin, subjected to torture with dogs, was not released 2022-05-12 15:16:25   VAN - The hearing of HDP Democratic Local Government Board member Rojbin Sevil Çetin, who was tortured with dogs while being taken into custody during a raid on her home, was held today in Van.    Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Democratic Local Administration Board member and former Edremit Municipality Co-Mayor Sevil Rojbin Çetin, who was tortured with dogs while she was detained in Diyarbakır on June 26, 2020 at her home, was charged with "being a member of a terrorist organisation" on the grounds of her activities in the Free Women's Movement (TJA). The second hearing of the case was held. Çetin participated in the hearing held at the Van 2nd High Criminal Court from Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison via Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS). TJA activists, members of the Human Rights Association (İHD) Van Branch, and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) participated at the hearing for observation, in which her attorney and family were present.   WARRANT ISSUED FOR DETERMINATION OF ANONYMOUS WITNESSES   Cetin, who made a defense at the hearing, repeated her previous defense and demanded her release. Speaking afterwards, attorney Ekin Yeter requested that the anonymous witnesses be brought to the court as soon as possible to be heard within the scope of the file prepared against her client. Then, the court board, which made its decision, decided to issued a warrant to the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the determination of the anonymous witnesses and postponed the hearing to June 9.
