Uluğ's life is still in danger. It was stated that Uluğ, who was taken to Bitlis State Hospital after the explosion, had to be transferred to another hospital on the grounds that the hospital did not have sufficient technical equipment and specialist doctor staff. The hospitals in Van, Erzurum, Diyarbakır, Batman and Malatya refused to treat Uluğ on the grounds that there was no room. Uluğ was then transferred to Harran University Faculty of Medicine Research and Application Hospital in Urfa.   As a result of the explosion, Uluğ's right hand was severed, and shrapnel hit his head and chest.
