
The family's resistance paid off: Hatice Ay laid to rest with slogans

	DIYARBAKIR - The remains of Hatice Ay, who lost her life in the Dicle, was taken from the ATK as a result of the family's resistance and laid to rest with the slogans of "Martyries didn't die".

	&nbsp;

	The remains of YJA STAR members Aliye Kiye, Hacer Sucin and Hatice Ay, who lost their lives in a SİHA attack in the countryside of Diyarbakır's Dicle district on September 19, were not given to their families by being kept in Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) despite their identification. Then, Hatice Ay's mother Hidayet and older brother Ayatollah Ay started a sit-in in front of the Diyarbakır Courthouse to receive the remains. As a result of the family's resistance, Ay's remains were released to the family last night after the procedures.

	"MARTYRIES DIDN'T DIE"

	&nbsp;

	Ay's remains were taken from Diyarbakır ATK and taken to Kulp district of her hometown, Diyarbakır, accompanied by a convoy. The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs Remziye Tosun and Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and administrators, Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Association for Assistance and Solidarity with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), Mesopotamia Language and Culture Studies. Association (MED-DER) members and managers also attended.

	Ay, whose religious duties were fulfilled, was laid to rest in the Qalê Şex Badîn Cemetery, where she was taken with the slogans of "Martyries didn't die" and zılgıts.
