Reasoned decision: There is a 'nepotism the criminal' 2023-01-30 16:09:11   AĞRI - Despite the acquittal of journalist Aziz Oruç in the case in Ağrı, the court, which sentenced DFG Co-chair Dicle Müftüoğlu and 4 people to 5 months in prison, based its reasoning on Article 283 of the TCK.   The 2nd High Criminal Court of Ağrı announced its reasoned decision on cases, about journalist Aziz Oruç, who was detained on December 11, 2019 in Doğubayazıt district Ağrı and later released, with the allegation of “Being a member of a terrorist organization” and “making propaganda for a terrorist organization” and Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) Co-chair Dicle Müftüoğlu and Yücel İlhan, Tugay İlboğa, Muhammed İkram Müftüoğlu and Abdullah Ekelik with the allegation of “aiding the organization” on January 18.   In the case where journalist Oruç was acquitted, Müftüoğlu and 4 people were given 5-month prison sentences each on the charge of "neopoising the criminal".   THE ONLY REASON TO HELP JOURNALISTS   In the justification of the acquittal of journalist Aziz Oruç on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organization", the court ruled that working as a journalist at Roj News is not sufficient evidence for membership in the organization. The court explained the reason for the 6-month prison sentence given to Dicle Müftüoğlu and the 5 people accompanying her with the allegation of “neopoising the criminal” as follows: “Descriptions of the accused, evidence and information; It has been concluded and concluded that the defendants committed the crime of favoring the criminal by allowing Aziz Oruç to escape.” In the reasoned decision, according to the changing nature of crime against journalists Dicle Müftüoğlu, Abdullah Ekelik, Yücel İlhan, Tugay İlboğa and Muhammed İkram Müftüoğlu; It was stated that they were sentenced to 5 months in prison separately. Yücel İlhan, Tugay İlboğa and Muhammed İkram Müftüoğlu were sentenced to a suspended sentence in the reasoned decision. Journalist Müftüoğlu received a 5-month prison sentence against Abdullah Ekelik in the reasoned decision, which ordered him to be supervised for a period of 1 year pursuant to Article 51/3 of the TPC.
