Investigation against chief warden for torturing prisoners

	ISTANBUL - An investigation has been launched against the chief warden who tortured prisoners in Kocaeli Type F Closed Prison No. 2 as a result of the initiatives of ÖHD lawyers. 

	 

	Prisoners in Kocaeli Type F Closed Prison No 2 were subjected to the violence of the chief warden during ward raids under the name of searches last week. Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) Istanbul Branch visited the prison to observe the incidents on the spot. After the visit, the lawyers made a public statement that Adem Dinç, one of the prisoners, was subjected to physical violence of the guards and that he had battering marks on his body. 

	 

	The ÖHD lawyers then applied to the Kocaeli Bar Association, Kocaeli Prisons Monitoring Board and the Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission and reported the matter to the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs.
