Resistance against the attacks: Rojava is the honour of humanity 2024-12-16 11:34:29 MÊRDÎN - Citizens participating in a vigil at the Qamishlo-Nisêbîn border against the attacks on North and East Syria says, "Rojava is the honour of humanity. Let's embrace Rojava". The vigil started on 13 December in Nisêbîn (Nusaybin) district of Mêrdîn (Mardin) on the border of Qamishlo against the attacks on North and East Syria continues. The vigil started under the leadership of Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) is on its 4th day. Citizens participating in the demonstration demanded an end to the attacks on the cities in North and East Syria.   'WE WANT TO LIVE FREELY'   Ramazan Tuğrul emphasised that the attacks must be stopped and stressed that Kurds, like all peoples, must have universal rights.    "We opened our eyes in this land and we will close our eyes in this land. Enough is enough. We call on all international states to stop the bloodshed as soon as possible and put an end to this barbarism. The Kurdish people want to live freely in their own land. We have no eyes on the gains of any people, we only want to live humanely," he said.    Peace Mother Sıdıka Erdem participated in the vigil from Şirnex (Şırnak) said: "We came here to support the people of Rojava. ISIS and its supporters have been barbarously attacking Rojava for years. Those who are there are our children, our mothers and our people. They are being massacred in front of the eyes of the world. Get your dirty hands off us. The world is big enough for all of us. We also live in this world and theyt should realise this."   'ROJAVA IS UNDER THREAT'   Peace Mother Hatice Durmuş participated in the vigil in Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex, called for solidarity with North and East Syria against the attacks. Hatice Durmuş said: "Everyone can come here and join the vigil for support. We want the isolation on Mr. Abdullah Öcalan to be lifted. We want them to sit at the table and solve this problem peacefully. We do not want to see guerrilla, civilian, soldier and police deaths. Mothers are harmed in every death."   Haşim Dölek pointed out that the attacks targeted the common life to be built in North and East Syria and said: "The AKP-MHP government is leading these dirty policies. The people there are extending the hand of peace and offering a system based on a common life. However, this is not allowed. There was a ceasefire in Manbij, but paramilitary gangs like SNA are attacking our people there. All of Rojava is under a great threat. We do not want to repeat the situation that happened in Kobanê in 2014-2015. Bur if such a situation occurs, I want to state that we will fight until our last breath."   Calling on all segments to "embrace Rojava with the spirit of mobilisation", Dölek said the following: "Rojava is our honour. Rojava is not only the honour of Kurds, it is the honour of all humanity. Rojava is a lotus flower for all humanity. If we struggle, of course they will take a step back. Qamishlo is Nisêbîn. Kobanê is Pirsûs. The purpose of our presence here is to put an end to the dirty policies against the peoples of Rojava. Inhuman attacks must come to an end. They should give up these dirty policies and the hand of peace should be extended."   MA / Ahmet Kanbal
