SDF: Turkish occupation committed horrific massacre 2025-03-17 12:16:29   NEWS CENTER - SDF stated that Turkey and affiliated groups carried out massacres by attacking civilians because its inability to achieve any progress of the battlefronts.   The Syrian Democratci Forces (SDF) Media Center made a statement regarding the attacks of Turkey and its paramilitary forces.    The statement reads: "Due to its inability to achieve any progress on the battlefronts or confront our forces, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries consistently resort to bombing civilian-populated areas, villages, and cities as an act of retaliation for their failures on the ground.   In this context, on Sunday, the Turkish occupation committed a horrific massacre, resulting in the martyrdom of nine civilians from a single family, including seven children and a woman, and injuring two others from the same family. The massacre occurred during an airstrike on the area between the villages of Qomji and Barkh Botan, south of Kobani.   On the Tishreen Dam front, Turkish occupation warplanes continued their intensive airstrikes on the dam’s surroundings and countryside. Coinciding with the massacre south of Kobani in the afternoon, they launched several airstrikes on the dam’s workers’ housing. Additionally, heavy artillery shelling targeted the dam’s countryside on Saturday night and continued into Sunday, causing significant material damage to villages and civilian homes.   On the Qara Qwzaq front, the occupation warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on the village of Ghasq and Sayfi Hill near the dam. Turkish occupation UCAVs also targeted the village of Bir Hissou and Sayfi Hill, while heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortars bombarded the entire area around the bridge and its surrounding countryside. The attacks targeted the villages of Al-Tina, Ja’da, Bir Hissou, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and Al-San’a, as well as the Serrin junction and the Sayfi Hill and Qara Qwzaq Hill. More than 80 shells were fired indiscriminately, causing severe destruction to homes and civilian properties across the region."
