Taşdemir welcomed in his hometown after 32 years 2025-10-10 15:29:53   AMED - Mehmet Şirin Taşdemir was released from Karabuk T-Tyep and was welcomed with enthusiasm in Amed (Diyarbakır), where he went after 32 years of imprisonment.    Mehmet Şirin Taşdemir was detained on 24 September 1993 in Licê district of Amed and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court. He was released from Karabuk T-Type Closed Prison yesterday after 32 years of imprisonment. Execution of Taşdemir was postponed 7 times by Administration and Observation Boards.    Taşdemir was welcomed by many people and representatives of organisations in his hometown Amed. During the welocme held at the Amed Bus Station, the slogans "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of dungeons)" were chanted. After the enthusiastic welcome, Taşdemir went to his home in Peyas (Kayapınar) district where his family lives.
