WAN - Stating that the Parliamentary Commission should listen to Abdullah Öcalan, Wan citizens criticised the government's policy in North and East Syria and said: "Politics cannot be conducted with peace here and war in Rojava."

The "National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission" established within the scope of the Peace and Democratic Society Process continues its work by listening to different circles. Although the circles in favour of a peaceful solution for the process to proceed in a healthy way and reach the desired result often express their opinions on the listening of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the commission has not yet taken a concrete step towards the commission. Citizens stated that Abdullah Öcalan, the chief negotiator and actor of the process, should be listened to.

Mahmut İnal said: "We have always been on the side that advocates peace. Our only wish is that no one sheds tears, no one goes to prison, there are no more massacres and persecutions. I am not saying this only for Kurds and Turks, I am saying it for all peoples. This process is an opportunity for everyone, not only for Kurds and Turks. Therefore, everyone should do their part."

'MUST BE DISCUSSED WITH THE MAIN NEGOTIATOR'

Stating that the process should be completed as soon as possible and legal regulations should be passed, Bahattin Işık said, "Abdullah Öcalan is always in favour of peace. We are also behind what Mr Öcalan has said and we are ready to do everything that falls on us. We appeal to the commission established in the Parliament to solve this problem: If you want to solve the problem, you should meet with Abdullah Öcalan, the actor and main negotiator of the process."

'THE STATE IS NOT SINCERE IN THE PROCESS'

Keleş Nili, one of the citizens who said that the state was not sincere in the process, said: "This people has been persecuted for years; thousands of people had to leave their villages due to the burning of villages. Everyone wants to return to their villages as soon as possible with the establishment of peace. We want peace and brotherhood. We are waiting for the state to take a sincere step. Everyone knows that this peace will benefit everyone."

'LET OUR DEMANDS FOR EDUCATION IN MOTHER TONGUE BE MET'

Ahmet Kaya said: "While everyone is doing their part, the state continues with slow steps. If they really want a lasting peace, the necessary legal arrangements and steps should be taken. When we look at it, a commission has been established in the Parliament; but on the other hand, the threat of war continues. At the same time, trustees are being appointed to municipalities by ignoring the will of the people. We want to have equal rights like everyone else. Let them fulfil our demands for education and training in our mother tongue."

'WE MUST ENSURE SOCIAL PEACE'

Stating that the parliament should focus on the murders of women, Şeyda Özdemir said: "Today, when we receive many murder news, mostly femicides, the parliament should work on this issue. Firstly, we must ensure our security and then social peace."

'PEACE HERE, WAR IN ROJAVA'

Ethem İlbilgin said: "Guerrillas, police and soldiers have lost their lives in the war for years. In order to prevent these deaths, peace must be achieved. It is not possible to make peace here and then attack Rojava. They cannot do this with two policies. If there is to be peace, there must be peace wherever there are Kurds."
