NEWS CENTER - The Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) Internal Security Forces announced that the Xalid Fecir Hospital had been evacuated. 

 

The Sheikh Maqsoud Internal Security Forces issued a statement regarding the attacks carried out by gangs affiliated with the Interim Damascus Government against the neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud and Khalid Fajir Hospital.

 

The statement reads: "Since 6 January 2026, gangs affiliated with the Interim Damascus Government have been carrying out brutal attacks against our neighborhood using Turkish state reconnaissance aircraft, tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, all types of heavy weapons, and thousands of fighters.

 

The aim of these attacks was to massacre the people of the neighborhood, change its demographic structure, and trample on the dignity of the population. However, based on the decision taken by the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah People’s Council, our forces decided to resist and defend their dignity.

 

On this basis, a self-sacrificing resistance was carried out, and our forces gave their lives without hesitation to protect the neighborhood and the dignity of the people. Under no circumstances did they bow their heads, and surrender was not accepted. Information regarding the identities of our martyrs will be shared with the public.

 

During this period of war, our people, who were subjected to heavy attacks, suffered many wounded and martyrs. The population gathered at Khalid Fajir Hospital, the only suitable place for treating the wounded. The gangs attacked the hospital dozens of times with heavy weapons and Bayraktar-type aircraft belonging to the Turkish state and attempted to carry out massacres inside the hospital.

 

Most recently, a partial ceasefire was declared in order to prevent massacres and to evacuate the wounded, civilians, women, and children from the hospital and transfer them to safe locations. Our forces approached the ceasefire with great sensitivity, and Khalid Fajir Hospital was evacuated.

 

From now on as well, our forces will continue to resist without hesitation, following the path of our martyrs, in order to protect the free will and dignity of our people. Our forces will continue their struggle and resistance through various means."
