ISTANBUL – As part of the Peace Mothers Assembly’s program to travel to Ankara, capital of Turkey, in protest against attacks on Kurdish neighbourhoods in Aleppo, members of the Istanbul Peace Mothers Assembly have set off for Ankara.

Members of the Istanbul Peace Mothers Assembly departed for Ankara to protest attacks carried out by groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government against Kurds in Aleppo’s Şêxmeqsûd (Sheikh Maqsoud) and Eşrefiyê (Ashrafieh) neighbourhoods.

The group was sent off collectively from Istanbul’s Sancaktepe district with ululations and chants of “Long live the resistance of Rojava,” “Jin, jiyan, azadî (Women, Life, Freedom)", and “No to war, peace now.”
