600 Efrîn families in Kobanê return to their homes

NEWS CENTRE – A group of 600 displaced Efrîn (Afrin, Syria) families has returned to their homes.
 
As part of the ongoing process concerning the return of displaced residents of Efrîn, another 600 families have gone back to their homes. The group, consisting of 600 families who had been living in Kobanê (Kobani) for the past nine years, returned home in the morning hours. After the group departed, statements were made by Kobane Region Administrator Îbrahîm Mislim and Kobane Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-Chair Mizgîn Xelîl.
 
The statement was also attended by a delegation from the Syrian Transitional Government, Heseke (Hasakah) Internal Security Forces Deputy Commander Siyamend Efrîn, North and East Syria Autonomous Administration Foreign Relations Department Co-Chair Îlham Ehmed, and a delegation from the Kobanê administration. It was stated that all displaced residents are planned to return to their homes before Eid al-Adha.
 
The first group, consisting of around 400 families, returned to Afrin on 9 March; the second group of around 200 families returned on 4 April; the third group of around 800 families returned on 14 April; and a fourth group of 1,000 people returned on 11 May.
