NEWS CENTER - Three drones targeted Hewlêr in Kurdistan Region. 

 

Three drones targeted Hewlêr in the Kurdistan Region. The drones were shot down after entering Hewlêr’s airspace, with debris falling on a residential complex near Hewlêr International Airport. Local media reported that the attack targeted a U.S. base near the airport. Airport operations were reportedly suspended following the attack.

 

There were no casualties in the attack. 

 

The Kurdistan Region’s Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD) said the attacks had been thwarted and that no damage was caused. The statement said: “In the early hours of this morning, Friday, August 14, 2026, between 2:17 a.m and 2:25 a.m, Coalition forces intercepted and shot down three bomb-laden drones in the skies over Erbil.”
