The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Pazarcık district of Maraş was also felt in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Iraq and Lebanon. Buildings were reportedly destroyed in Damascus, the capital of Syria, Latakia, Aleppo and many regions in the north of the country. Syrian state media announced that at least 237 people died and hundreds were injured in the collapsed buildings.
