
Imrali isolation to be discussed at UN Human Rights Council

	NEWS CENTER - The isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan will be discussed at a conference to be organized as part of the 56th Human Rights Sessions of the UN Human Rights Council.

	For more than 25 years, PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been held on Imrali Island Prison under conditions of absolute isolation and no news has been received from him for 40 months.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The Movement for Inter-Racial Friendship Against Racism (MRAP), which brought the Imrali isolation to the agenda of the UN Human Rights Council with its reports, is preparing to organize a conference titled "Human Rights in Turkey" at the UN Office in Geneva.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The conference, which will be held on July 3 as part of the 56th Human Rights Sessions of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council, which started on June 18 and will continue until July 12, will focus on the isolation conditions of Abdullah Öcalan and Turkey's unlawful practices in Kurdistan. &nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The conference will be moderated by MRAP UN Representative Gianfranco Fattorini and the speakers will be İbrahim Bilmez from Asrın Law Firm, Laura Castel Fort, Member of the European Parliament and Kurdish politician Fırat Anlı.
