Syrian forces attacked Sheikhmaqsud

	NEWS CENTER - Aleppo Internal Security Forces announced that an armed attack and assassination attempt was carried out by the paramilitary forces of the Syrian Interim Government against one of their points in the vicinity of Sheikhmaqsud (Şêxmeqsûd) neighbourhood of Aleppo last night. 

	The statement reads: "As Aleppo Internal Security Forces, we condemn the attacks and provocations of the Syrian Transitional Government forces and its armed groups against the neighbourhoods of Şêxmeqsûd and Eşrefiyê. Such attacks seriously jeopardise the safety of civilians and the peace in the region. In the last few hours, an assassination and armed attack was carried out against one of our points in the vicinity of Şêxmeqsûd neighbourhood. This attack is a clear attempt to drag the region into a new armed conflict. It is indicative of efforts to destabilise security and sabotage the protection of civilians."

	 

	The statement concluded: "This attack, in which all efforts to maintain the ceasefire and peace are targeted, shows once again that the aggressor parties are not committed to reconciliation and ceasefire aggreements; on the contrary, they continue their destructive policies and attempts to undermine security. We emphasise once again; We will continue our duty to ensure the safety of civilians and maintain the stability of neighbourhoods. We call on all parties to fulfil their responsibilities to preserve internal peace and not to allow the region to be dragged back into a spiral of violence."
