Salih Muslim commemorated at his grave

NEWS CENTER — Salih Muslim, a member of the PYD Co-Presidency Council, was commemorated at his grave in Kobanê (Kobani, Syria).

Muslim, who passed away from kidney failure on 11 March while receiving treatment at a hospital in Hewlêr (Erbil), was remembered on the 40th day after his death at his grave in Kobanê. Family members, comrades and representatives of civil society organisations attended the commemoration.
 
Xerîb Xiso, co-chair of the PYD General Assembly, said: “We respectfully commemorate all freedom fighters in the person of Martyr Salih Muslim. His struggle and resistance cannot be fully described. He resisted until the very end for the cause of the Kurdish people. It is our duty to uphold his struggle and follow his path.”
 
Muslim’s wife, Eyşe Efendi, thanked those attending the ceremony, saying: “As his family, we are proud of his martyrdom. We will continue the struggle for the cause of the Kurdish people and follow in the footsteps of our martyrs.”
 
YPJ commander Rohilat Efrîn also offered condolences to the family and commemorated those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom. “Martyr Salih Muslim fought for the freedom of the Kurdish people. We will continue on his path and carry on our struggle to ensure women’s rights are included in the new Syrian constitution. We have reached this level thanks to our martyrs, and we will follow their path,” she said.
