NEWS CENTER - Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said regarding the Peace and Democratic Society Process:  “We are now leaving behind a process that has continued for more than 40 years.”

 

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş spoke at the Bosphorus Diplomacy Forum. Referring to the Peace and Democratic Society Process, Kurtulmuş said: “We are now leaving behind a process that has continued for more than 40 years, in which thousands of our people have been martyred, tens of thousands have been killed, and villages and cities have been destroyed and devastated. In this country, Turks, Kurds and people from other ethnic communities will move forward together as one.”

 

Describing the process as a first step, Kurtulmuş said: “If there is to be any talk between us from now on, it will not be the language of separation, division or othering, but the language of brotherhood and solidarity. And thus, those good days of unity among Turks, Kurds, Arabs and all other peoples will be restored, not only within Turkey’s borders but beyond them as well and a strong region will be built again.”
