NEWS CENTER - MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli renewed his call for the “right to hope” to be granted to Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, saying once again, “Selahattin Demirtaş should return home, the Ahmets should return to office, and Öcalan should be granted the right to hope.”

 

MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli commented on the ongoing process. responding to questions from Millet News Agency Editor in Chief Sinan Burhan, Bahçeli said that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan should be granted the right to hope. Bahçeli made the following remarks: “May the framework law we have signed bring good fortune. With his signature, our thousand year brotherhood has once again affirmed. Everyone, whether Turkish or Kurdish, regardless of their language or identity, has won. Our 86 million citizens and the people of the Middle East have won. At the same time, the first step has been taken toward thwarting global agendas. This is a state-led project. Our Parliament has taken the necessary initiative on this issue. Our state institutions are carrying out the required work. We will continue to follow this process together.

 

ÖCALAN SHOULD BE GRANTED THE RIGHT TO HOPE

 

I have not visited Selahattin Demirtaş. However, I regularly stay in touch with him through his lawyers and ask how he is doing. He also sends his regards to me. We have a good relationship. I also ask whether he has any requests or wishes. We worked together in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. I am saying the same thing again, Selahattin Demirtaş should return home, Ahmet should return to office, and Öcalan should be granted the right to hope. Turkey should find peace. Our goal is for Turkey and the region to achieve peace.”
