ANKARA - Speaking about the framework law, AKP Group Chair Abdullah Güler said that the bill would be debated in Parliament, adding that “necessary amendments will be made as needed.”

 

AKP Group Chair Abdullah Güler outlined the articles of the bill titled the “Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration,” which was submitted to the Parliament Speaker’s Office. AKP Deputy Chair Abdülhamit Gül and MHP Deputy Chair Feti Yıldız also attended the press conference held at Parliament, alongside Güler.

 

Güler said that the “Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration” consists of 12 articles, including the provisions on implementation and entry into force. Thanking those who have contributed to the process so far, Güler said: “We submitted our bill to the Parliament Speaker’s Office with nearly 360 signatures. However, there will be also MPs who later express their technical support for the bill and sign it in accordance with the parliamentary rules of procedure. The chair of the Justice Committee will, as part his planning and in accordance with the rules of procedure, issue the necessary invitations for the committee meeting 48 hours later, on Friday at around 2.30 pm.”

 

COMMISSION PROCESS

 

Drawing attention to the work of the parliamentary committee, which began its activities one year ago, Abdullah Güler said: “Our parliamentary commission heard from 137 people, including individuals, presidents of associations, trade unions, bar associations. This work was truly valuable. Very important ideas were discussed and voiced here. Our Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defence, National Intelligence Organization (MİT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Justice appeared before the commission at various times to brief it on the current situation, developments, and process.”

 

‘NECESSARY AMENDMENTS WILL BE MADE AS NEEDED’

 

Responding to questions from journalists, Güler said: “Necessary amendments will be made as needed. In İmralı, people such as academics and journalists will also hold meetings, in accordance with certain disipline and procedure.”
