NEWS CENTER - Kongra Star has called for the prosecution of Ramî Yusif, who sparked outrage after cutting the hair of a Kurdish woman fighter during the attacks on Aleppo and was most recently seen at a demonstration in Girê Spî.

 

The reappearance of Ramî Yusif Deheş, who cut the hair of a Kurdish woman fighter during the attacks on Aleppo and was recently seen at anti-Kurdish demonstrations in Girê Spî, has sparked public outrage, particularly among women. Kongra Star held a press statement at Free Women’s Square in Kobanê in response. The statement was read by Nadiya Hiso, a member of the Kongra Star administration in Şêran district.

 

Nadiya Hiso said that the man who cut the hair of a Kurdish woman fighter has once again come to public attention and added: “We have seen this individual standing at the forefront of Arab groups in Girê Spî, leading violence against the Kurdish people. All of this is happening at a time when there is talk of democratic future and a process of integration. Despite this, those who have committed crimes against the Kurdish people and women are once again making threats without facing any response.”

 

'WE WILL CONTINUE OUR STRUGGLE'

 

Stressing that Ramî Yusif must be brought to justice, Nadiya Hiso said: “We will continue our struggle until this person is held accountable for his actions. This approach, which has trampled on human values, moral principles and women’s dignity, must be held accountable. If no action has been taken against this individual to this day and he is still able to make threats, we, as women, will continue our struggle until he and others like him are brought to justice.”

 

The press statement concluded with participants chanting, “Jin, jiyan, azadî” (Woman, life, freedom) and “Berxwedan jiyane” (Resistance is life)
