NEWS CENTER – In the attacks carried out by Iran, Israel and the US since 28 February, bases of the Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilisation Forces-PMF) in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq continue to be targeted.
The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Security Agency announced that the 70th Command Centre had been targeted by drones and missiles, whilst it was also reported that attacks had been carried out on Hashd al-Shaabi bases in Babil and Anbar.
The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Security Agency issued a written statement regarding explosions heard across a wide area in Silêmanî (Sulaymaniyah) last night. It was reported that forces at the 70th Command Centre in the city were targeted by two drones and two missiles in the early hours of the morning, but that the attacks were repelled whilst still in the air. Rumours that the American University in the city had also been targeted were denied by the university.
HASHD AL-SHAABI TARGETED AGAIN
The Hashd al-Shaabi Command also announced in a statement that its forces in the Curif Nesir region of Babil and in the Germe district in eastern Anbar had been targeted by the US. It was noted that no casualties were reported in the attacks targeting the 45th and 31st brigades affiliated with Hashd al-Shaabi, with only material damage occurring.
In the attacks by Iran, Israel and the US, which have continued since 28 February, the Kurdistan Region and Iraq have been targeted over 500 times by missiles and drones. So far, six Peshmerga fighters and one employee at Erbil International Airport have lost their lives in the attacks. The US is also continuing to escalate its attacks against the Hashd al-Shaabi and other armed groups.
