DİYARBAKIR - The Öcalan poster that Diyarbakır Security Directorate that said they won't allow drew attention at the historical Diyarbakır Newroz.

Diyarbakır Newroz Celebrations held with the slogan “Dem dema serkeftinê ye” (Now is the time to win) came to an end. More than a million people came to the final Newroz of 2022 despite the provocation attempts and the attacks of the police. The Diyarbakır Security Directorate that objected everything negotiated by the Newroz Organising Committee, threatened that they will under no condition allow an Öcalan poster or any slogans about Öcalan.

The Kurdish youth that entered the Newroz area early in the morning, entered the area with the slogan “Bijî Serok Apo”. The poster of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan that the Diyarbakır Security Directorate vowed not to allow showed up right after the Newroz fire was lit.

People started shouting the slogan “Bijî Serok Apo” right after seeing the poster.
