ŞIRNAK- In the statement regarding the chopping of trees in Şırnak, HDP Şırnak Provincial Organisation said: "The plunder in the region is planned. We will raise our voices against this massacre of the nature and we want public awareness for it."

 

The chopping of trees, which was started by rangers in the Besta District of Şırnak under the supervision of the soldiers continues. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak Provincial Organisation made a statement in front of the HDP provincial building regarding the chopping of trees. HDP Şırnak MP Hasan Özgüneş, HDP Provincial administrators, DBP Şırnak Provincial Organisation, Peace Mothers and Free Women's Movement(TJA) activists and many people participated in the statement.

 

'THE STATE IS USING ITS UNLIMITED AUTHORITY'

 

Stating that the state has defostrated the region under the name of security, Şırnak HDP Central District Co-chair Kamuran Demir: "The places which was declared 'security zones' have become places where the laws are ignored, where authorities can do anything they want. The appointed governor, district governer, police and gendarmerie had unlimited authority in this region. These authorized persons and institutions easily implement all kinds of predatory and rent-seeking policies in the region, regardless of nature and life. They try to hide the plunder by not letting the press with their unlimited powers. They not only plunder the trees, they also harm the the history, future and all of life in the Kurdistan."

 

'WE WANT THIS VOICE TO BE HEARD BY THE PEOPLES OF TURKEY'

 

Stating that everyone should raise their voice to the chopping of trees, Demir said: "There is an all out attack on Kurdistan. These attacks are a part of the hostility against Kurds. There is a plan to plunder the nature of Kurdistan. We raise our voice against the chopping of trees and we want this voice to be heard by the peoples of Turkey."
