MARAŞ - The Silopi Municipality of HDP distributes food to 3,000 people every day in Pazarcık, the epicenter of the earthquake.

 

Silopi of Şırnak Municipality, led by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), has been healing the wounds of people in the Pazarcık district of Maraş since the first days of the earthquake. The municipality, which has opened 3 tents in Fatih District, cooks meals for 3 thousand people every day, in the morning, noon and evening. Municipality employees prepare different meals every day and deliver them to those in need. Many families also meet their needs for 3 meals in the municipality's tent. The municipality also helps earthquake victims in terms of food and some necessities.

 

Kasım Ertan, one of the municipality employees, stated that they distributed food to 3 thousand people and stated that all expenses were covered by their municipality. Expressing that the earthquake victims were devastated when they arrived, Ertan said: 'No one is taking care of us'. They are satisfied with us. People both eat here and take them to their places.”

 

TRUSTEE WAS APPOINTED TO THE CRISIS CENTER

 

The HDP also established a Crisis Coordination Center on the second day of the earthquake in the city, together with local associations. Dozens of trucks of aid were distributed and health services were provided to 50 rural neighborhoods along with hundreds of volunteers; however, a trustee was appointed to the said center yesterday. Party members and volunteers did not accept this situation and decided to continue their work in different fields.
