Rejection of request for 'stay of trial' in the case of MP Doğan

AMED - The request for "stay of trial" in the case of Green Left Party Şirnex MP Ayşegül Doğan was rejected.
 
Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) Şirnex(Şırnak) MP Ayşegül Doğan was the Program Coordinator of İMC TV, which was closed by the Decree Law in 2016, and was accused of "being a member of a terrorist organization" on the grounds of the news and interviews she made while presenting the "Agenda Negotiation" program. She was sentenced to one year and 3 months in prison.
 
The hearing of the case, which started again after the sentence was overturned on appeal, was held today at Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court. At the hearing, which Doğan did not attend, her lawyers were present.
 
Lawyers drew attention that Doğan was elected as a member of parliament in the May 14 elections and demanded the "stay of trial" and the removal of the judicial control measure.
 
The court rejected the request to "stay of trial" and postponed the hearing to December 11.
