MERSİN - SYKP Co-Chairperson Canan Yüce drew attention that the AKP, which declared "We are with Palestine", bombed Northern and Eastern Syria at the same time, and said: "Those who are against Israel's attack should also stand against the attacks in Rojava."

Unable to tolerate the defeat of ISIS in Northern and Eastern Syria, the AKP government has been continuing its attacks on the region for years, both under the name of "operations" and with Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones). It was noteworthy that the AKP government, which continued its attacks with bombardments targeting all infrastructures and civilians in Northern and Eastern Syria on October 4, condemned the targeting of civilians in the war between Israel and Palestine that broke out on October 7.

Socialist Reestablishment Party (SYKP) Co-Chairperson Canan Yüce evaluated the attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria and Palestine.

'HOSTILITY TOWARDS KURDS'

Drawing attention that the attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria started again after the action against the Ministry of Internal Affairs on October 1, Yüce said: "Civilians were clearly targeted in these attacks. I described targeting the infrastructure of the region along with civilians as a policy of 'hostility towards Kurds'. We are aware that this war in Rojava will bring more poverty, oppression and exploitation to the people living in Turkey. The AKP-MHP government has declared war on everyone who is not with them. We have been seeing the hypocritical attitudes of America and other states here for years. While operations are being carried out there and civilians are being massacred, they prefer to remain silent. What is important here is the states' own survival, maintaining their own power and interests. The people there, especially the Kurdish people, are subjected to oppression and exploitation."

'THE PARADIGM IS BEING TARGETED'

Referring to the silence against the attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, Yüce said: “These wars serve the interests of states and capital. It is not in the interest of the people. The war in Rojava is against all those who demand equality, freedom and peace. The attacks targeted the Democratic, Ecological and Women's Libertarian paradigm that came to life in Rojava. The struggle in Rojava is a struggle that has provided hope and inspiration to women and all peoples for many years. The women's freedom struggle against the barbarians of ISIS has risen and a revolution is being carried out there, giving the message that people can govern themselves. The government here is hostile to this paradigm, hostile to women. This state is afraid that the paradigm implemented in Rojava will spread to Turkey."

THE ROJAVA AND PALESTINE POLICY OF AKP

Referring to the war that broke out again between Israel and Palestine, Yüce said: “There has been a war in Palestine that has been going on for 75 years, the Palestinian people are waging a struggle against the state of Israel. Publications were made that viewed the resistance of the Palestinian people as illegitimate and justified Israel, with distortions such as where did this move come from? These people have been displaced and massacred for years. The methods used by Hamas are wrong, the slaughter of civilians is unacceptable. But there is a struggle that cannot be reduced to this. In revenge, Israel surrounded Gaza and bombed civilians and hospitals there. International powers remained silent on this. In Turkey, the AKP followed a hypocritical policy. It is not realistic for the AKP to say 'We are with our Palestinian brothers'. At the same time, it was massacring and bombing civilians in Rojava. But it said 'no' to Israel's massacre of civilians. If there is any support for the Palestinian people, it is not the AKP regime that attacks the Kurdish people and murders civilians, it is the resisting peoples and workers."

'THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO END THE INVASION'

Emphasizing that racism deepens as the war deepens, Yüce said: “This war is never in favor of the people. We need to raise the struggle for peace, equality and freedom. The interests of nation states and their focus on the Middle East still continue and will continue. We see that these wars will not end without peace and justice. The only solution; It is the end of the invasion, where people decide their own fate, their identities and areas of freedom are recognized. It is necessary to see that war is a big problem in the Middle East and violence is increasing. Both international and local public opinion should not remain silent about this. Those who stand against Israel must also stand against the attacks in Rojava. All peoples and oppressed people need to stand against these attacks. It must be clearly exposed that the AKP regime is not on the side of the Palestinian people."
