WAN - Speaking at the May Day rally in Wan, DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır said that people must unite against the oppression of the government. DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları emphasized that the workers' income will increase with the democratic solution of the Kurdish issue.

May Day held in Wan continued with celebrations and music concerts. DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır said: "Workers in Kurdistan and Turkey are seen as enemies in the eyes of the government. We have a remedy against oppression; It is the unity of people. By joining hands, we will gain our rights and gain our freedom against this oppression. Just as the people of Wan resisted, all people must unite and resist. If we have this unity, we can defeat them. It is time to end this struggle, which has been going on for years, with freedom and peace."

'THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED WITH OCALAN'

Pointing out that the budget spent on the war, Bayındır said: "They spent everything they had on the war against the Kurds. If the Kurdish issue is not resolved by democratic methods, the crisis in this country will continue. You need to solve this issue with Mr. Ocalan. Our struggle is to solve this issue. If the Kurdish issue is not solved, they will deepen this war even further."

'THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS HUNGER AND POVERTY'

DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları said that the biggest problems in the country are unemployment and poverty. Hatimoğulları said: “Today, nearly 50 million people in Turkey live in hunger and poverty. While AKP gave away all the assets and resources of the country to its supporters in the palaces, it saw hunger and poverty as a necessity for workers and laborers."

BULLET PRICE REACTION TO ERDOGAN

Hatimoğulları stated that one of the biggest reasons for the shrinking income of workers in Turkey is the ongoing war and conflict policies. Hatimoğulları continued as follows: "This government responded to our demands for a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue, which has been going on for more than 40 years in this country, with tanks, cannons, bullets and guns. A woman said how expensive onions were in the market, we said to Erdoğan, 'Do you know the price of bullets?' The answer the president gave to the woman who said potatoes are expensive, onions are expensive, we cannot cook for our children, was the price of bullets. Hey Erdogan, we don't know the price of bullets. We don't want to learn because we don't want war. We want peace, we say peace to the conflict mentality that aims to sow discord among Turkish and Kurdish workers. If the Kurdish issue is solved by peaceful and democratic methods, be sure that the huge budgets allocated will be left to the workers.”

'LET'S GROW SOLIDARITY'

Hatimoğulları said: "I want to address the people of Turkey, my Turkish worker brothers, from Van; When you take any action, they immediately call it 'terror' in quotation marks in order to break those actions. They separate Kurdish workers and Turkish workers from each other. However, the bread of Kurds, Turks, Arabs and all people is shrinking equally. We are calling out to our Turkish worker brothers from here in the heart of Kurdistan. Against this understanding that tries to eliminate the solidarity between workers and laborers and the solidarity between peoples, our biggest duty is to increase solidarity even more. If we are hungry together and thirsty together, we will fight together."

The rally ended with Fazıl Demir, Koma Janya and Babetna taking the stage.
