RIHA - Journalist Nazım Daştan stated that the aim of the attacks against the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria is to "impose integration" into the nation-state and said: "Kurds have proved to the world for 13 years that a democratic life is possible. They want to destroy this hope."

The 61 years Baat regime in Syria came to an end on 8 December when the capital Damascus fell into the hands of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). The BAAS regime, which is remembered for the inhumane practices and massacres it inflicted on the peoples demanding their democratic rights, especially the Kurds, was destroyed not with the developments in the last two weeks, but with the struggle of the peoples spread over many years, especially the Kurds. The collapse of the Baath regime also brought with it the questions of what kind of government will be formed in Syria from now on.

Journalist Nazım Daştan, evaluating the interventions of the international powers that increased after the fall of the Baath regime, noted that Turkey wants to carry out a Kurdish genocide by taking advantage of the political uncertainty. Stating that a new threshold began in Syria on 8 December, Daştan said that the old balances were destroyed with the attacks of HTS.

"Rather than saying that everyting is over, it is more accurate to say that it is not clear what the new balances will be determined on. The Baath regime has collapsed, but the occupation attacks continue. New balances will be established after BAAS. There used to be equations such as Iran and Russia, but their influence is very little now" he said.

'THE ISSUE IS NOT ONLY MANIBIJ'

Emphasising that the operation that started in Aleppo on 26 November and ended in Damascus on 8 December was a NATO operation against Russia and Iran, Daştan said: "The issue is not only Manbij. In 2014, ISIS attacked Kobanê and Turkey has a tail pain left over from there. Manbij is the defence of Kobanê and Raqqa. A fallen and occupied Manbij means preparing the infrastructure for the invasion of Kobanê. The attacks against Qereqozaq and Tişrin are being carried out on this basis. Qereqozaq is the gateway to Kobanê. There are attacks with heavy weapons in many places. It is too early to say that everything is over. These attacks can go to very different places. In 2011, the regime was almost on the brink of extinction, but 13 years later it was completely destroyed. Now such a process has started."

'THE POLITICS OF INTEGRATION IS IMPOSED'

"International interventions are not only being carried out to limit Russia and Iran in Syria," said Daştan, adding that they are also being carried out against the peoples who have been able to organise themselves politically and militarily in the Syrian civil war without being integrated into the NATO bloc and the bloc represented by Russia and Iran.
Daştan stressed that the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has repeatedly proved that it is a solution to the chaos, and said: "Somehow it is also wanted to be directed. It is wanted to be suffocated with occupation movements and to settle for something. The policy of integration with the embargo is imposed. All resistance and struggle are being developed against this. Many wars have been fought before on the basis of the revolutionary people's war strategy. Not only now, there is a
years history of resistance. Turkey is reversing this and targeting the Kurds' achievements for 13 years by turning the direction of HTS here. For 13 years, the Kurds have proved to the world that a democratic life is possible. They want to destroy this hope."

'KURDISH GENOCIDE POLICY IN EFFECT'

Expressing that Turkey aims for "Kurdish genocide" with the attacks carried out by paramilitary forces, Daştan continued as follows: "Turkey wants to eliminate the hope of coexistence by occupying cities with occupation attempts. Turkey has a long-standing Kobanê tail pain. The system in North and East Syria is targeted with the attacks. By doing this, they want to realise their own plans of Misak-i Milli (National Pact), neo-Ottoman. Since they cannot do this with their own armies, they are doing it with a group that beheads, rapes women, changes the demographic structure and thrives on plunder and spoils. The Kurdish genocide policy is in effect."
