'OCALAN MUST BE FREE'
The photographs of journalists Cihan Bilgin and Nazım Bilgin, who were murdered in North and East Syria, were carried during the demonstration. DEM Party MP Saliha Aydeniz said, "We have been on watch here for 25 days to protect the Rojava Revolution. We are here for the democracy of the Middle East and Turkey. Here, a humanitarian vigil is being held against the attacks. This responsibility is a historical responsibility. The gains are wanted to be destroyed with the system created with gangs."
Saliha Aydeniz said that Kurds struggle not only for their rights but also for democracy. Saliha Aydeniz emphasized that the status of North and East Syria must be recognised.
"A process will start in Turkey today. The continuation of this process depends on the status of Rojava. An attack on Rojava is also an attack on north, south and east. The Kurdish issue must be solved as soon as possible, and this can be solved with democratic and peaceful words. It is not possible to talk about peace on the one hand and massacre on the other. Yes, there is a meeting and our delegation has been visiting political parties for several days. But the interlocutor (Abdullah Öcalan) has spoken his words. Now the oppostion must respond this. The system developed by Mr Abdullah Öcalan is an alternative to this dirty system. This chance must be recognised. Therefore, not only negotiations but also the conditions of freedom must be ensured. Mr Öcalan must be free as soon as possible so that the conditions for peace can be ensured."
