DÊRSIM - Speaking at the commemoration organized in Dêrsim for Sakine Cansız, who was murdered in Paris together with Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, "We will continue Sakine Cansız's fight everywhere," says DBP Women's Assembly Spokeperson Berivan Bahçeci.
Sakine Cansız, one of the 3 Kurdish women politicians who were murdered in Paris, was commemorated at the Provincial Organization of Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). Representatives of political parties and civil society organizations attended the commemoration. At the commemoration where photographs of the murdered women were displayed, a banner with Sakine Cansız's quote "The history of humanity begins with women, humanity loses with what is done to women" was hung.
'WE WILL CONTINUE HER FIGHT'
DBP Women's Assembly Spokesperson Berivan Bahçeci started her speech by commemorating the women murdered in Paris. Stating that women's struggle continues in every field, Berivan Bahçeci said, "Our friends such as Nagihan Akarsel, Hero Bahaddin, Gülistan Tara were specially targeted and murdered. If we talk about women's struggle so much, if we can say 'Jin Jiyan Azadi (Woman, life, freedom)', it is thanks to their efforts. We will never leave their flags on the ground. We will raise their struggle. No one can end this struggle. We commemorate all our friends who lost their lives in this struggle. Cihan Bilgin also lost her life in this struggle, she was targeted and murdered for exposing the dirty war in Rojava. We will never leave their struggle on the ground. We will continue the fight of Sakine Cansız, who said 'My life was always a fight', everywhere."
Sakine Cansız was commemorated at her grave in Asrın Cemetery in the center of Dêrsim.
