Within the scope of the investigation initiated by Mersin Chief Publci Prosecutor's Office, co-mayors of Akdeniz Municipality governed by DEM Party, Hoşyar Sarıyıldız and Nuriye Aslan and municipal council members Özgür Çağlar, Neslihan Oruç, Yakup Danış and Hikmet Bakırhan were detained yesterday morning. 

 

Citizens reacting against the trustee appointment attempt and detentions started to gather in front of the municipality building for the second day. The crowd started to gather in front of the blockaded municipality building in the earlu hours of the morning. The police blockaded the building with dozens of police vehicles and prevented the personnel from entering the building. 

 

DEM Party co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları will attend the public meeting organized by her party in front of the blockaded municipality building.
