NEWS CENTER - Stating that they have been working for national unity in the Federated Kurdistan Region for 2 weeks, "We need a national strategy and dialogue. For this, a national conference is urgent and vital" says KNK co-chair Zeyneb Murad.

The attacks of Turkey and the SNA against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria continue. Kurdish calls for unity against the attacks also continue. The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) delegation started to work on national unity. KNK has been working for 2 weeks for national unity in the Federated Kurdistan Region. On 31 December, the KNK delegation held meetings with political parties and media organizations and received their opinions and suggestions. The delegation has so far met with the Helwest Party, the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, the Kurdistan Demorat Party-Iran (PDK-I) and many other organizations and political parties to work on Kurdish unity.

KNK Co-Chair Zeyneb Murad, who was part of the delegation, made evaluations on the talks they held.

'THE TALKS CREATED CHANGE'

Zeynep Murad stated that with the beginning of the attacks on North and East Syria, they have put a work ahead for Kurdish National Unity and said, "We organized a big conference in Lausanne on the occasion of the centenary of Lausanne. In this conference, we discussed the issues of unity and nationhood. A national conference will be held soon. In order to prepare and finalise the conference, we will take the opinions of all four parts of Kurdistan and move forward. A planning has been made in this respect.
Since we are in the process of preparation, we see that the work we have done in Başûr (South) Kurdistan has created important developments and changes in the region. Especially the Palestinian-Israeli-Hamas war has been going on for more than a year. The war in Lebanon and the situation in Syria is obvious. Again, there are current developments in Rojava. After these attacks, we put a plan in front of us and a delegation consisting of co-chairs and members of the executive started talks in Başurê Kurdistan."

Zeyneb Murad stated that the preservation of the gains in Rojava will be possible by ensuring national unity and added that Turkey's attacks continue and there is a state of war in the Middle East. Zeyneb Murad said that they wanted to get suggestions on the problems experienced in the four parts of Kurdistan through the negotiations they held and added, "This work is a very important work for the period we are living in. There are attacks and war. But we can create important opportunities for the Kurdish people. We have witnessed the change of a dictatorship like the Assad regime. For 13 years, there is a democratic structure that has been taking the people's security and serving them. This experience is an example for the future of Syria. What is important is the support we will give to the people of Rojava as Kurds. We need to defend Kurdish rights and status. We want this not only for Kurds but for all the peoples living with us. This process has given Kurds the opportunity to write their own destiny. We also saw it as a need to organise these meetings in every part of Kurdistan."

IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITIES

Zeyneb Murad warned that the current state of war will affect the Kurdish people the most and said that the Kurdish people have the opportunity to turn this process into an opportunity. Zeyneb Murad said that the KNK delegation met with all segments of society. "What we need to do at this sensitive stage is to respond to the process with strategic steps. Kurdistan is at the centre of this war in the Middle East. We must also have a strategy and turn the developments into gains. Today, the Kurdish people have important gains. These gains need to be defended and they can achieve even greater gains due to the developments. Because there are developments that harbour important opportunities and are within the realm of possibility. There are attacks against our people in every field. Millions of our people have been forced and forced to migrate. We are going through a period of very important developments and there is an intervention in the demographic structure of Kurdistan. A special war is also being waged against our people. This issue places a great responsibility on everyone," he said.

Drawing attention to the importance of the Kurdish National Conference, Zeyneb Murad stressed that the way for dialogue between the Kurdish parties should be opened. Zeyneb Murad said, "All political parties have a great responsibility. Clergy, women, youth and all circles should take a great responsibility. We must come out of this process successfully. We need a national strategy. A national conference is urgent and vital for this. All countries of Europe, especially America, are now talking about the Kurds. Everyone knows that the Kurds have a solution project. They know that this project is a hope not only for Kurds but for all peoples and they are aware of this. What attitude will the Kurds take in the face of this reality? We need to discuss these issues. We, as the KNK, need to put aside the disagreements between the political parties through dialogue and pursue national interests. We can come together with our people and Kurdistani parties and reach a decision through dialogue and discussions. We carry out our work within this framework."

Zeyneb Murad said that the Kurdish people and their friends should approach the process with the responsibility and consciousness of their part in this process, and added, "Our work continues over the four parts of Kurdistan. This is a national call. Not only political circles, but everyone needs to take responsibility for this task. Academics, intellectuals, artists, clergy, youth and women should come together and come to a decision so that we can defend the rights of our people in these developments. We are working to achieve results in Bashûrê (South) Kurdistan and our work continues. As a result of the meetings we have held and the suggestions we have received, we will come together and reach a national decision."
