Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder held a second meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan yesterday at İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison. The delegation made a written statemen today about the content of the 4-hour meeting.
The statement reads: "As DEM Party İmralı Delegation, we held a meeting with Mr Abdullah Öcalan on January 22, 2025 on İmralı Island.
During the meeting, Mr Öcalan first expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic fire in Bolu and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
Our delegation informed Mr Öcalan about the negotiations we are conducting.
Mr Öcalan's work on the process continues. Necessary explanations will be made to the public after his preparations on this subject are completed.
We, as a delegation, will carry out our work and contacts, and we will inform the public as developments occur.
