Birsen Orhan, co-Mayor of Dêrsim (Tunceli) Municipality, who was replaced by a trustee, was sentenced to 5 months in prison due to her speeches at the trustee protests and the book "Introduction to Jineology". Orhan did not attend the hearing held at Tunceli 1st Criminal Court of First Instance. Lawyers were present at the hearing.

 

The prosecutor claimed that Birsen Orhan was charged with "public incitement to commit a crime" for possessing the book "Introduction to Jineology". The prosecutor also demanded that she be sentenced for using the expressions "occupation" and "struggle" in her speeches during the trustee protests.

 

The court considered his speeches during the trustee protests as "imminent danger" and sentenced Orhan to 5 months in prison.
