RIHA - Stressed that solution of the Kurdish issue will give a wind to all segments of society, "Kurds trust the President. Everyone should put their hands under the stone without exploiting this issue," said Mehmet Ocalan.

The international conspiracy led by the USA and the UK and involving many states is in its 26th year. PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was forced to leave Syria on 9 October 1998 and brought to Turkey on 15 February 1999 with the cooperation of international powers. Abdullah Öcalan has been under isolation since that date. So much so that his family has been able to meet with Abdullah Öcalan only 5 times since 2014.

The last face-to-face meeting was on 3 March 2020. Abdullah Öcalan was able to make phone calls only 2 times during this period (27 April 2020 and 25 March 2021). The las phone call on 25 March 2021 was interrupted very shortly. The las face-to-face and telephone conversation with Abdullah Öcalan was with his brother Mehmet Öcalan.

Mehmet Öcalan, who lives in the rural neighbourhood of Amara in the Xelfetî (Halfeti) district of Riha (Urfa), evaluated the international conspiracy and the severe isolation.

Saying that 15 February is "Roja Reş (Black Day)" for Kurds, Mehmet Öcalan said, "26 years ago, unlawful acts were committed against Kurds in the person of the Leader (Abdullah Öcalan). Many states closed the airspace. Those who say, 'There is democracy' did not fulfil the requirements of democracy."

Ponting out that the international conspiracy coincided with the anniversary of the Sheikh Said resistance, Mehmet Ocalan said, "The dates were always chosen to send a message. These are not coincidences. Just as Kurdistan was divided into 4 parts with Lausanne, the conspiracy 26 years ago was carried out for the same purpose. Those who took part in Lausanne made the international conspiracy. This is why the Kurdish issue is an international issue. If the Leader and his friends had not started this struggle, it would not be possible to talk about Kurdish reality today. They created a struggle out of nothing and it grew day by day."

Mehmet Ocalan stated that the conspiracy did not achieve its aim and that Abdullah Öcalan played a ‘unique and unprecedented resistance’ against the conspiracy. Mehmet Öcalan stressed that Abdullah Öcalan had strong foresight about the developments in the Middle East. Mehmet Öcalan stated that Kurds and their friends also showed a great reaction against the conspiracy and reminded the ‘You cannot darken our sun’ protests that started in prisons and then spread in waves. Mehmet Öcalan said that the resistance against the conspiracy still continues. Mehmet Öcalan stated that 43 months of absolute isolation was also lifted as a result of this struggle.

Referring to the talks between Abdullah Öcalan and the DEM Party delegation, Mehmet Ocalan said, "This process does not have a name yet, but it is positive. I firmly believe that the president will do whatever is his duty in the best way possible. The delegation went twice and Ömer (his nephew) went once. This is a good thing. The delegation continues its work. It was the MHP and Devlet Bahçeli who had the strictest attitude towards the Kurds. Devlet Bahçeli has said some things, he should also fulfil them. The state mind must also be sincere. Kurds trust their Leader but do not trust in the state. The reason for this is what happened in the past. If the Kurdish issue is not solved through democratic means, both Kurds and all other peoples living in these lands will suffer. The solution of the Kurdish issue will give everyone a wind."

'EVERYONE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY'

Mehmet Ocalan emphasised that everyone should take all necessary steps for peace and solution. Pointing to the attacks in North and East Syria, Mehmet Öcalan added, "The Leader has been in a solitary cell in İmralı for 26 years. His will is great. Everyone must take  responsibility for a solution without exploiting this issue. The anniversary of the conspiracy is coming. Everything happens with labour. Until today, Kurds have paid a great price. This struggle must be continued and magnified. Until the Leader is free, until the Kurdish issue is solved through democratic means, everyone must stand up. On 15 February, everyone should use their democratic rights and speak out against the international conspiracy."
