ŞIRNEX - Stating that the first priority of the move initiated by TJA is the lifting of the isolation of İmralı, "Steps cannot be taken if there is no legal basis for the security of the process. Therefore, the isolation must be lifted," said Adalet Çimen Fidan.

The Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) launched a new move on 5 February with the slogan "Jin ji bo azadiya Serokatî, ji bo çand û zimanê Kurdî, li dijî tundiya li ser jinê têdikoşin (Women are fighting for the freedom of the Leader, Kurdish language and culture, against violence against women)". The aim of the women who continue their work within the scope of the movement is to ensure the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

TJA Şirnex (Şırnak) Spokesperson Adalet Çimen Fidan spoke about the importance and content of the move.

IMRALI DETENTION

Pointing out that the PKK leader is being held under severe isolation conditions, Adalet Çimen Fidan said, "The effect of isolation is felt in the society. One of the important agenda items at TJA's conference was the lifting of isolation. In this context, it was discussed that the Kurdish issue must be solved peacefully and an urgent move should be initiated. Our move was initiated within this framework." Adalet Çimen Fidan stated that women's struggle must be strong in all areas of society and said that the solution against capitalism is women's confederalism.

Emphasising that they will increase the struggle for the end of the İmralı isolation, Adalet Çimen Fidan said, "The organisation of women will bring the organisation of youth and society together with it. The ruling party and opposition parties must also take steps in this direction. The lifting of isolation is the first item of the move we have started."

Underlining that the improvement of the conditions of Abdullah Öcalan, one of the parties, and the sincere steps to be taken by the government are very important for the process, Adalet Çimen Fidan added, "Everyone needs to take part in the move we have started and share their thoughts. This is not only a Kurdistan problem. In order to stop the violence against women and to eliminate the isolation, women in Turkey and in the diaspora need to unite and strengthen their work. Mr Abdullah Öcalan shares his ideas and thoughts for all peoples. Therefore, this burden should not only be on the shoulders of women and the Kurdish people. Turks, Arabs and the peoples living in the Middle East must take part in this move and work for the solution of this problem. This responsibility belongs to everyone from 7 to 70. Everyone who wants to live in peace and equal conditions must take part in this movement."
