Sirnex protests election interference with 'mobile' soldiers

ŞIRNEX – Citizens in Şirnex center are protesting the intervention in the elections with “mobile” soldiers.
 
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Cigdem Kılıcgun Ucar, DEM Party Deputies Saliha Aydeniz, Zeki Irmez and DEM Party Co-chairs were attacked by the police while they were going to the courthouse to object to the election results of Şirnex center and Qileban district, together with hundreds of citizens.
 
The delegation and citizens marching towards Şırnak Courthouse were blocked by the police in Omer Kabak Square. The delegation and citizens who insisted on marching were attacked by the police. The police attacked with pepper gas and rubber bullets and detained dozens of people.
 
During the police attack, Ucar's advisor Erkan Tepeli was injured by a gas canister that hit his head. DEM Party Şirnex Municipality Co-chair candidate Turan Saltan also had a nosebleed.
 
The police also prevented members of the press. The police beat and detained many people.
