Meclis TV also banned in Çorum Type L Prison

ANKARA - IHD's report on the violations experienced by political prisoners in Çorum Type L Closed Prison has revealed that even Meclis TV is banned.  
 
Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch prepared a report on their visit to Çorum Type L Closed Prison. 5 political prisoners are held in the prison and the report includes many violations. The report includes the opinions of prisoners held in solitary cells. 
 
Prisoners pointed out that they were held under isolation conditions. Prisoners noted that they were only allowed to ventilate for 1 hour a day and that they could not benefit from other activities, especially sports. 
 
The report stated that prisoners Sami Geylan and Süleyman Yıldırım have been held in solitary confinement for nearly 2 years and their demands to be transferred to the same room with other prisoners were rejected. The report also stated that Sami Geylan's release was postponed. 
 
'EVEN MECLI·S TV IS BANNED'  
 
It was stated that the prisoners were not allowed to see each other in any way. Prisoners were only allowed 45 minutes for open visits. It was also stated that prisoners' right to receive news was prevented. It was reflected in the report that even Meclis TV, which broadcasts the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, is banned in the prison and that there is no response to requests and petitions on the issue.
