NEWS DESK - HDP members Alaattin Semir Zuğurli and Sedat Ay and DBP Mardin Provincial co-chairs Şehmus Sun and Leyla Bozkurt were arrested in Mardin. The co-mayors of Nusaybin and Bismil were released.

 

Nusaybin co-mayor Ferhat Kut, Bismil co-mayor Gülşen Özer, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly members Alaattin Semir Zuğurli and Sedat Ay, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) ) Co-chairs Leyla Bozkurt and Şehmus Sun and Nusaybin City Council Member Mehmet Emin Alkan were referred to the court on Monday.

 

The politicians had been taken into custody last week. 

 

Nusaybin Municipal council member Mehmet Emin Alkan, who was questioned by the prosecutor, was released on demand of judicial control, while the other 6 politicians were sent to the Criminal Court of Peace on the charges of "membership of an illegal organization”.

 

HDP Party Council (PM) members Alaattin Semir Zuğurli, Sedat Ay and DBP Mardin Provincial co-chairs Şehmus Sun and Leyla Bozkurt were remanded in custody.

 

The four Kurdish politicians who were remanded in custody were sent to Mardin E Type Closed Prison.
