DİYARBAKIR - Condemning the absolute isolation in Imrali, DBP Women's Council Spokesperson Aynur Sarıca said: "Kurdish women do not accept isolation and are fighting against it. Isolation must be lifted no matter what."

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Women's Council Spokesperson Aynur Sarıca held a press conference on current developments at her party's information office in Amed(Diyarbakır). Sarıca said: “After the 14 and 28 May elections, there were processes of criticism and self-criticism, and public meetings continued. As DBP, we see this responsibility ourselves and will give our own criticism. We will continue to meet with women and young people.”

'THE ISOLATION MUST BE LIFTED'

Drawing attention to the absolute isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Sarıca said: “They want to prevent the bond between the Kurdish people and Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. No matter how hard they try to prevent it, the public builds more loyalty. Whatever happens, the isolation must be broken. The isolation spread from Imrali to all the prisons and the peoples of Türkiye. Kurdish women do not accept isolation and are fighting against it. We know very well that they are afraid, because when free women take to the streets, they bring freedom to society. The government is also afraid of this.”

THE TREATY OF LAUSANNE

Evaluating the Lausanne Workshop held by TJA yesterday, Sarıca said: “This workshop was very important, women from all identities, Armenian, Yazidi and Syriac spoke. In Lausanne, the rights of all minorities were ignored, human rights, language and women's rights were destroyed and many people were killed. We defended the democratic nation against nation-states. The second century of Lausanne has arrived, but their perspectives are the same. They do not recognize the rights of women and youth. They want to take this century with this mentality, we will not accept this."
