İZMİR - In the case of the murder of Ceyda Yüksel in Bornova, the sentence given to Serkan Dindar was approved with a reduction of "unjust provocation".

The sentence given to Serkan Dindar in the trial regarding the death of Ceyda Yüksel (28), who was murdered in Bornova district of Izmir on August 20, 2020, was approved by the court of appeal. The 6th High Criminal Court sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment for "intentional murder" at the hearing held on April 28. He then reduced the sentence to 18 years in prison due to "unjust provocation".

The lawyers of the parties appealed the decision. Izmir Regional Court of Justice 1st Criminal Chamber did not find any "legal violation" in the sentence. Convinced that there was no deficiency in the evidence and procedures, the court stated that the evaluation in terms of proof was "appropriate", that the action was described as correct and that it conformed to the type of crime prescribed by law.

The chamber rejected the defendant's lawyer's request for release.
