NEWS CENTRE - Women took to the streets across the country for their rights and lives and raised the struggle against male-state violence, war and isolation policies.
On 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, women took to the streets in many cities of Kurdistan and Turkey and raised one voice against violence, poverty, inequality, isolation and war. Women marched and made statements in Riha (Urfa), Adana, Şirnex (Şırnak), Colemêrg and Agirî (Ağrı).
Saying that they will continue their struggle against violence and impunity policies, women also sent letters to the President of the Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş in many cities demanding a return to the Istanbul Convention.
In the marches led by the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), DEM Party and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) women's assemblies, women's rights commissions of law associations and bar associations, women's assemblies of trade unions, the slogan "Jin, jiyan, azadî (Women, life, freedom) was chanted.
