BURDUR - Mehmet Turgay released after 32 years of imprisonment.
Mehmet Turgay, who was held in Burdur High Security Prison, was released after 32 years of imprisonment. Turgay was detained in Adana in 1992 and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM) for "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state".
Turgay was greeted in front of the prison by his relatives, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and TUAYDER executives. Turgay thanked those who welcomed him and said: "Berxwedan jîyan e (Resistance is life)".
