MÊRDÎN - DEM Party and DBP Provincial Co-chairs participated in the vigil on the Qamishlo-Nisêbîn border and say take the Rojava model as a basis.
The vigil action started at the Qamishlo border in Nisêbîn (Nusaybin) district of Mêrdîn (Mardin) against the attacks of Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) supported by Turkey against North and East Syria continues on its 6th day. Representatives of political parties and citizens from Sêrt (Siirt) supported the vigil. Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Sêrt Provincial Co-chair Eşref Tekin and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Sêrt Provincial Co-chair Mustafa Dayanan, who took part in the protest, evaluated the ongoing attacks.
'ROJAVA IS A MODEL FOR THE WORLD'
Mustafa Dayanan underlined that the attacks are aimed at eliminating the model of coexistence establised in Rojava. The new life model established with great costs is wanted to be dismantled by global powers said Dayanan and added: "In the last 13 years, the peoples of Rojava and Syria have risen up to revolt against this oppressions. History has shown us how the peoples fought against this dirty war waged by gangs such as ISIS. Their gains also increased. The system created there showed us the liberation of the whole world in the person of Rojava. this is a women's revolution. This system, fed by the philosophy od Mr Abdullah Öcalan, echoed all over the world with 'Jin, jiyan, azadî (Woman, life, freedom)'." Stressed that the people need peace and freedom, Dayanan stated that the only salvation that will lead the peoples to peace and freedom is the Rojava model.
'REGIME OVERTHROWN BUT THE KURDS STILL TARGETED'
Eşref Tekin stated that Rojava is again the target of attacks after the fall of the Baath regime and stressed that the life created in Rojava disturbed the sovereign powers. "We see that the peoples in Rojava have a collective life and live a beautiful life. As it can be understood, the are disturbed by this. We do not find this right," he said.
'IF YOU WANT TO LIVE TOGETHER THERE IS ALREADY A MODEL'
Stating that the problems in Syria must be solved peacefully and through dialogue, "There has been enough war and death in Syria and Rojava. From today onwards, the peoples of Syria myst continue their lives on the basis of an equal life. It must be clearly stated that the people of Rojava want status with tehir land, language, culture and history. The opposition organizations that overthrew Damascus in 11-13 days made statements about living together. If you really want to live together, there is already a ready-made model for this in rojava and take this model as a basis," he said.
Referring to the calls made for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Tekin stated that the government must implement these calls in practidce and continued as follows: "There must be negotiations and talks. We find the calls for Mr Öcalan to 'come and speak' valuable and appropriate. the government has its own plans and programmes, but the opposition also needs to play its role courageously."
