EMPHASIS ON STRUGGLE
"We will not let the trusteeship pass in these lands," said DEM Party Women's Spokesperson Halide Türkoğlu and added: "We will not obey. We will raise our struggle no matter what. Municipalities are ours, the will is ours. We will not accept the borders they want. We will continue to raise our struggle for equaltiy and freedom. We are determined, we are persistent, we will resist, we will increase our gains."
Devrim Demir, Co-Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, who was replaced by a trustee, said: "The people are resisting against their will in the fields. As women and Kurds, we will not surrender our will to your policies. We will fight against this. Women should fight against this policy the most. Birsen Orhan did not submit to the trustee policy. She may be imprisoned at home today, but our ideas are free. We will be in every field of life with our ideas."
