NEWS CENTER - Making a statement on the developments in Syria, National Shiite Movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr called for a comprehensive national dialogue that would lead to the establishment of a democratic government in Syria.
Shiite religious and political leader Muqtada al-Sadr made a written statement on his social media platform X account regarding the overthrow of the 61 years Baath regime in Syria.
Muqtada al-Sadr made the following statements in his message: "We are waiting for a comprehensive national dialogue to form a democratic government that includes all components of the people without extremists, military rule and exclusion so that neighbouring Syria can live in safety, away from American, Israeli or other interference. We hope and look forward to balanced relations between the two brotherly peoples in the name of Islam, Arabism and humanity. Our destiny is one and we will not allow the enemy to divide us under the pretext of sectarianism, political differences and nationalism."
